Located in Rockville, this long-running Greek restaurant is known for their traditional Greek dishes. If you’re in the mood for the best Latin American food around, try out Samantha’s Restaurant. If shopping is your guilty pleasure, you’ll be sure to love all that’s waiting for you in Montgomery County. Enjoy a waterfront shopping experience at RIO Lakefront, located in Gaithersburg. Conveniently situated in the heart of Montgomery County, this premier, open-air shopping destination offers nearly 50 stores. There’s also a movie theater or paddle boats for more old-fashioned fun. Rockville Town Center is another great option for shopping or other miscellaneous activities, as the center offers a lawn for the warmer months and an ice-skating rink for the winter season. 

Things to Do

As the biggest county in Maryland, it’s no surprise that Montgomery County has plenty of exciting things to do. Enjoy an evening of live music at the impressive 2,000 seat Strathmore Music Center. This state-of-the-art music hall hosts a wide range of musical talents across all genres. Spend a day exploring the Glenstone Museum, located in Potomac. This unique modern art museum specializes in showcasing contemporary work with an extensive sculpture garden. 

There’s little more refreshing than spending time in the sunshine, which you can do at the Great Falls National Park. Outdoor enthusiasts can look forward to hiking Billy Goat Trail, a 4.7 mile hike that follows a path between the C&O Canal and Potomac River. It’s one of the most popular hikes in the area, offering nearly a mile of fun rock-hopping and inspiring views of the Potomac. You may also want to check out the Brookside Gardens, an award-winning 50-acre scenic display.
